It's not Oktoberfest until someone screams "O'zapft is!"

Pittsburgh's signature Oktoberfest kicks off Thursday, September 17th with a traditional Munich-style firkin-keg tapping with music by the Polkamaniacs! Your VIP ticket to the tapping includes a commemorative glass stein, a full stein fill, $15 in Ofest bucks towards a buffet meal featuring both German and Pittsburgh favorites as prepared by our chef, and a 5oz Pilsner Glass filled with a bee of your choice. This is also your first chance to swing by and pickup
all the new merch for 2026 before it sells out. General Admission to event is free.

Rooted in the traditions of Bavaria, Penn Brewery’s ceremonial firkin-tapping brings an authentic Oktoberfest tradition to Pittsburgh. The lively kickoff ceremony officially gets the celebration underway and sets the stage for a weekend of beer, music, food and Gemütlichkeit.
