Penn Brewery On Tap

 Winter 2011-2012

St. Nick is Coming to Town!

He's back - and he's bringing his beloved special brew to make holiday spirits bright!   Here's what St. Nick has planned for this year at Penn Brewery:

Brunch with St. Nikolaus on Saturday, December 3.  Bring the entire family to meet St. Nick and enjoy a festive holiday brunch.  The feast will include ham with mustard glaze, fluffy eggs, French toast, baked penne pasta with meatballs, potato-cheese casserole, strudel, and more.  The Pirate Parrot, the Penguins' Iceburgh, the Washington Wild Thing, and Seven the St. Bernard from Seven Springs Resort will also be on hand to greet you.  Buffet is $17.95 for adults and $8.95 for children, and will be offered from 11 am - 2 pm.  Reservations are recommended.  Call 412-237-9400, X-120.

Live Entertainment.  The Blues Orphans will take the stage of Friday, 12/2, from 8-11 pm.  John Galt Theory plays on Saturday from 7-11 pm.  Get into the spirit!

Ceremonial Keg Tapping.  St. Nikolaus himself will tap the first keg of Penn Brewery's own Christmas beer, St. Nikolaus Bock Brewer's Reserve, on Friday evening, December 2, at 6 pm.  A touch of honey makes Brewer's Reserve taste extra sensational!

Penn Spreads Holiday Cheer with Seasonal Beer

St. Nick received an early Christmas gift himself this year - a silver medal in the Doppelbock/Eisbock category from the 2011 Great American Beer Festival® in Denver!  (Penn Dark captured a bronze medal in the European Dunkel category as well.)  The prize winning entry, St. Nikolaus Bock Brewer's Reserve, is now available at beer distributors in 22-oz. bottles and would make the perfect gift for the beer lover on your list.  In addition, look for St. Nikolaus Bock in 12-oz. bottles and on draft.

Penn will also be launching a brand-new beer this season.  We're not quite ready to reveal the surprise yet, but here's a hint: it's inspired by one of Pittsburgh's most beloved winter pastries.  Look for this new variety to debut soon in Penn's Gourmet Selection packs.

In honor of Valentine's Day, Penn will offer our popular Chocolate Meltdown Stout.  This smooth & silky brew is made with real chocolate. Chocolate Meltdown will be available on draft and in 22-oz. bottles.  Look for it beginning in January.

Finally, ski buffs will enjoy the new Seven Springs Mountain Ale.  This hoppy ale will be available at Seven Springs Resort in time for the ski season.
